Lifeline and swage testing

Safety lifelines end in swaged terminations that need testing. The Staht LT clamps to 8 mm (7x7 or 1x19) cable and, with a t25 load cell, tests the swage up to 25 kN. The lifeline's manufacturer gives the force to apply.

Written by Staht from its product data sheets and brochures. Updated 4 November 2026.

Testing must be done by competent people, following the relevant standard and the manufacturer's instructions. Our testers measure the load applied; they don't certify an anchor, fixing or installation.

What force do I test to?

The manufacturer of the safety line system provides the test guidance and the force to apply to the line.

What if there's a slip indicator?

The LT extension adaptor bypasses a slip indicator fitted at the front of the swage.

How is it recorded?

Through the t25 load cell, in the free Staht Connect app.
